Shantanu, the Government could not have been clearer. In 2019 the Conservatives promised the NHS would not be on the table in trade deals. But words aren't enough, and they've resisted pushes for legal protections to keep our NHS out of new trade deals.
But now we've got a chance for a new push to get our NHS proper protection from trade deals. Because there's a new Trade Secretary in place, Anne-Marie Trevelyan. This is our chance, in her first few weeks in the role, to prove to her how much we want concrete protections for our NHS.
An open letter, signed by hundreds of thousands of us, will make sure the new Trade Secretary knows exactly where the public stands. And once we reach 100,000 signatures, we'll send the letter directly to her, and let you know her response.
So Shantanu, if you believe the NHS belongs to all of us, and MUST be kept out of any future trade deals, will you sign the open letter to the Trade Secretary? Just click the button below and your name will be added to the open letter automatically!

Here's what the open letter says:
Dear Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Secretary of State for International Trade,
As you settle in to your new role, we wanted to remind you of the manifesto promise this Government made to voters in 2019:
“When we are negotiating trade deals, the NHS will not be on the table. The price the NHS pays for drugs will not be on the table. The services the NHS provides will not be on the table.”
Taking the NHS out of public hands and opening it up to competition from foreign companies is too high a price to pay for any trade deal. Up to now the Government has resisted calls to introduce proper legal protections to prevent the NHS being sold off or undermined by trade deals with other countries.
Please ensure that the Government commits to this promise, and ensure that when it comes to trade negotiations, our NHS is well and truly off the table.
Thousands of members of the public
A few months ago, we asked which of the Government’s NHS promises they needed to prioritise delivering on. Over 50,000 of us responded and made it clear you thought keeping the NHS out of trade deals was the #1 priority. Together, this is our chance to show the Government's new Trade Minister where we stand, and keep the NHS in public hands.
So Shantanu, will you add your name to the open letter today? You can sign with one click

Dear 38 Degrees
You have been sending me emails to my Telephone Gmail Account and these did not appear in my Desk-Top Gmail Account when I told you explicitly that I had unsubscribed from receiving such emails. I signed your Petition from Jonathan Harty Sign the open letter to Anne-Marie Trevalyan - next steps and made two donations - of £5 and seting up a regular donation of £8.60 per month through PAY PAL but when I tried to login to set up a new petition using my Shanpanigrahi3000@gmail.com email address, I was blocked. Kindly restore this facility immediately. I do not use my firstname.lastname@example.org email account as it is defunct.
The petition I wished to set up as my campaign is as follows:
WHY CONSERVATIVE LIBERTARIANISM
Coronavirus and us humans: why should we humans be vaccinated? If some of us die from Covid-19 they die making more room for the rest of biodiversity to enjoy Nature. We have short lives and life is for the enjoyment of Nature. This is best left to Nature.
The reality is that we humans are used by powerful predatory capitalists as guinea pigs to study the virus, carryout scientific work and earn vast amounts of money from dispensing vaccines and medications, doing epidemiological studies and in the process restricting our freedom to enjoy ourselves in our short lives. The excuse that they want to save lives as if living dead-man walking lives is worth the intrusions into people's privacy is just that, a deliberate form of enslavement and a money spinning endeavour. They do not for their own families let alone caring for their entire populations. In truth they are into empire building, at a personal level and State level using the concept of socialism to herd people like cattle and sheep and intrinsically breeding the next generation to the required level in the acquisition of people who would be moronic-enough to readily accept servitude as slaves and remain always at the beck and call of the predatory masters as soldiers in wars. The intrinsic inbreeding of slaves is attained by marginalising talented and intelligent persons living libertarian lives into mental hospitals or prisons by the enactment of laws on the morality of human behaviours. Further, the hospitality industry that plies the slaves with alcohol and drugs as medications is another tool of this strategy of inhumanity.
What good is iife if one cannot enjoy oneself. Be in high spirits: that is what spirituality means to me. One should appreciate life and the beautiful and bountiful planet. That is why I am a Conservative Libertarian. The purer one is in one's habits, free of medications and living like natural human beings the better one is equipped to be in a mental frame of mind that would enjoy life and not treat the Earth as a Hell that desperate people want to exit from through suicides and take to religions like Buddhism to escape from the samsara under the pretext that there is reincarnation and one will eventually get there. No one knows whether there is reincarnation as the Vishista-advaita Vedanta conceptualises. What we can be certain about is that we have this life, and this life must be enjoyed. For that one has to fight the odds and persevere against the Satan-evil elements out to enslave one and deprive one of the liberty to enjoy life. We do not know whether that is dharmayudha and indeed whether it is sanatan dharma as an eternal law of the universe where Dharma Rakshati Rakshita. I have not seen it to be true, I am still owed £55,000 from the University of Greenwich from 1998 as my severance payment from employment. The predatory Police State of the United Kingdom still enforces anti-psychotic, anti-depressant and mood-stabilising medications on me for resisting slavery. But liberty is the first port of call. Once one is guaranteed liberty within the Police State, one can begin to enjoy life a little bit more.
Survive first, fight next to maintain one’s sanity. He who fights and walks away lives to fight another day.
